Our first week of the 2015 year was nothing short of what I had hoped. It actually exceeded my expectations! We all know the beginning of the school year can be a bumpy and busy ride and we teachers often brace ourselves for the impact that is the first week of school.
I speak on behalf of our whole team here, we are truly living the “fail to plan, plan to fail” life. We have put so much time and effort into planning and preparing that it has left little room to fail.
We have revamped our record keeping systems, we have revamped our lesson planning and accountability for lessons given system, we have implemented a conscious discipline program, and we have made an effort to collaborate with lead and assistant teachers school wide. I can’t forget to include our leadership team — Rohini, Sandy, Laurie, and Sarinette who firmly yet gently guide us in the needed direction.
It is with an overflowing heart that I humbly attest to our hard work paying off and resulting in a busy, productive but overall smooth sailing first week of school!
Cheers to rest of the school year!
Ms. Laurie says
The start of school, with plentiful lessons on courtesy and rules, has gone smoothly. What I find so exhilarating, is observing the children and their spontaneous joy. They are so happy to explore all the wonders of the classroom, together in a cooperative community. These children, the future’s leaders, have unlimited potential. In Maria Montessori’s own words, “Viva il bambino!”
