Summer is for Learning

June 27, 2016

Learning doesn’t stop because “school is out”. Just the opposite, summer is the perfect time for a relaxed and creative approach to enhancing a child’s learning experience.  Adults and children both can benefit from flexible routines, purposeful play and exploring new outdoor environments together.

Our Montessori Summer Camp sprinkles in a little geography, music and art, outdoor fun and cultural lessons combined with the children’s classroom work that truly appeals to children. Outdoor water and sand sensory work allows children to experiment while using their imagination and exercising their motor skills. International sounds and tastes bring cultural lessons to life.  New children and returning children create lasting bonds to continue on in the fall, bridging the transition to the new school year. Teachers also benefit from summer time providing a chance to present new lessons or approaches igniting the children’s curiosity. Summer allows us to connect deeper, on many levels, and enhance the Montessori experience for all.

So let the joyful learning continue! Three cheers for summer!

About the Blog

sloganWelcome to Montessori Minds, a portal into the daily life and insight of what it is to live a Montessori life. We are teachers at the Brandon, Riverview, and SouthShore Montessori Schools — more than just a premiere school for young children in the Tampa area, we are an experience that prepares these young children to live the rest of their lives as whole competent beings.
